"This book is brilliant. I know of nothing else like it. I was fully drawn in by the unique way the authors use personal historic accounts. Women Making America is perfectly conceived to help readers understand how they themselves are the makers of history. Read it today."

~Molly Murphy MacGregor, President and Co-Founder of the National Women's History Project

Meet The Authors

Heidi Hemming

Heidi Hemming and Julie Hemming Savage wrote this book to draw readers into the wonders of American women's history. Not surprisingly, they have come to view the women they have written about as old friends, and hope their readers will too.

Heidi has a master's degree in history.

Julie's master's degree is in American Studies.

Women Making America has grown out of their love of women's history and years of practical experiences as teachers working with students and educators. The sisters live with their families in Silver Spring, Maryland.
